Just to verify comments from
others, this lcdi plug is simply a 3-prong plug and no special wiring is
needed. I have no idea what "lcdi plug" means...
My windows are too
small for the air vent, so I placed the vent in front of the window
opening and sealed the gaps with the included foam insulation +duct
tape. Works great. Don't want to cut it to size, as I'm in an apartment
and will eventually move.
The drain hose empties into a small
wastebasket and in the current weather I empty the bucket about every 4
hours during the day; it doesn't fill up overnight (the temp &
humidity drop). I won't be able to leave it on while I'm at work with
this arrangement, so I might get a longer hose so that it drains out the
window. Boston doesn't have too many hot & humid days, and I get
the ocean breeze when the wind cooperates, so I'll probably just
continue with this arrangement this summer.
I'm asking an 8000 BTU AC unit to cool a 4-room apartment, so of course it isn't going to make
the place cold but it's making all the difference in the world. If it
gets too hot & humid I can close one door and make the remaining
rooms comfortable.
This unit ships at 67 pounds, so you may want some help getting it inside your home.
Hope this is helpful to you. Stay cool!
