This is a small, simple, basic air
conditioner. No digital readout or remote. Just a couple of dials.
How much it will cool is completely dependent upon your building
construction as to insulation, etc. In my case, here in Arizona, it has
no problem cooling a building which is 16x20 in size, R40 in the
ceiling and R19 in the walls, and very tight.
This is pretty
small and light as AC units go, and it was a breeze to install.A regular
outlet is fine. Take 30 minutes to get it installed, plug it in, and
your room will be cool pretty quick. It's not too noisy, and the filter
is easy to slide out to clean. No complaints, and it doesn't even cost
much.
Yay, it fits! I have a new shed
with a single side-sliding window. The opening is exactly 16" wide. This
Frigidaire came in at about 1mm slimmer. I used vinyl tape from an
RV/camping store instead of the included window mounting
brackets/slides.
So now I have what appears to be more of a
professional looking, snug fit than having to build a support system on
the exterior. If you look at the picture here on Amazon, you can see two
wide legs on the bottom of the unit. Those legs line up exactly with
the rail in the window track, giving additional support to prevent
slippage.
I am very pleased with the A/C. There is an odd, almost
small-aircraft-engine kind of sound when it's first turned on, but it
runs smooth and relatively quiet after a few seconds.
